Introducing: Beacon's ticketing platform

David Simpson
October 28, 2020

With Beacon ticketing you can create beautiful, modern, mobile-friendly event registration forms that make signing up for your events and supporting your organisation a breeze.

All of the usability and flexibility of Beacon's donation system is now available for selling tickets.  You can create snappy, modern forms that let your supporters buy tickets quickly and easily.  No code to write, and you can get set up in minutes.

Building Beacon's ticketing system has been a real labour of love for our product team. We've spoken to loads of customers (thank you all!) to make sure that we're building the right set of features. It's one of the biggest releases we've ever done and we're all really proud and excited. We think you're going to love it!

Lets take a quick look at the key features:

       1. Tickets perfectly configured for your event

If there's one things we've learned while building Beacon it's that every charity is different.  And every event is different, too.  With Beacon you can configure your event registration forms to suit just how you plan to run your event.  For example:

Everything is completely in your control.

       2. Built for the world we live in today

We've added features that align with the current way charities are running events. For example, it's easy to set up different time slots with limited ticket allocations, so you can make sure that attendees are staggered throughout the event.

We've also made sure that it's simple to configure confirmation emails for sharing video call links if your event is online.

       3. An interface that's everything you have come to expect from Beacon

At Beacon we take building beautiful user interfaces very seriously.  We've worked very hard on every detail of event registration forms to make sure your supporters get a best-in-class experience when they choose to attend your event. Our forms work perfectly on mobiles and tablets as well as desktop screens of all sizes. We're guided by Google's Material Design principles which help us to make sure that Beacon is at the cutting edge of user experience design. The kind of design that everyone should expect from the software we use every day.

       4. Powered by Stripe

Beacon's event registration forms are powered by Stripe, which also provides Apple Pay and Google Pay on compatible mobile devices.

If you've already connected your Stripe account account to Beacon there's no additional configuration for you to do - your event registration forms will just work out of the box. More payment methods, including PayPal, are coming soon!

       5. Collect all the important information from your attendees

Need to know the dietary requirements of your gala guests? Need to know which size of bib your marathon runners want? Keen that every online pub quiz attendee provides their email address?

We've got you covered.

       6. Collect donations at event registration time

Beacon makes it easy to collect additional donations while your supporters are buying tickets.

       7. Available at no extra cost

Ticketing is available at no extra cost for all customers on Professional and Premium plans.  Fees on payments are the same as those for donations and membership payments.

It's time to try it out!

Our new event registration forms are now live and ready for your to try right now. Log in to build your first event registration form.

As always, we've written comprehensive documentation on how to use this shiny new feature.  You can read about selling tickets with Beacon here.
