We released the first version of Roles and Permissions way back in 2019, and today we're really excited to announce a brand new system for managing access within Beacon, with some great new features.
There are a couple of important updates:
You can read full details about how to use the new Roles and Permissions system in our accompanying Beacon Guide article here.
We have completely redesigned Beacon's Roles and Permissions interface to make it cleaner and more modern:
You can now create rules which control which users have access to specific records.
Want to make sure that case workers can only see the cases to which they're assigned? Piece of cake. Events team should only be able to see the records for people who are attending your gala? You got it.
Setting up rules for accessing records is really easy:
The Advanced Permissions element is only available on Premium and Ultimate plans. If you are on Standard or Starter plans, you will need to upgrade.
Our Head of Product, Charles Douglas-Osborn, will be running a webinar taking you through the new interface and features this Wednesday (the 11th of June). You can click here to sign up.

Already a Beacon customer? We have a new and improved Roles and Permissions help centre article which you can find by clicking here.
We're also working on some new Lighthouse training, so you'll soon have more resources to make sure your team are Beacon roles and permissions experts.
