Marketing Executive

We're looking for a generalist Marketing Executive who can help us to drive Beacon's growth.

We're looking for a generalist Marketing Executive who can help us to drive Beacon's growth.

At Beacon we’re a growing technology startup building the best nonprofit-focused CRM in the world. We passionately believe in the power of technology to make a difference.

Chris and David, both software engineers, founded Beacon in 2017 to build a new kind of charity CRM using the latest technology and design principles.

Now over 1,400 innovative charities around the world trust Beacon to run their core technology infrastructure. Animal welfare, human rights, disaster relief, cancer support - all powered by Beacon. You can see a quick demo of our product, here, and find out more about our features here.

We have doing good at the core of our mission, but we're also profitable, owned by the founders, and our goals are for long term sustainable growth - not making a quick buck for venture capitalists.

Responsibilities

Your focus will be supporting and driving growth for the company. You’ll be the second person in the marketing team, so there’ll be plenty of opportunities to contribute!

This role is designed for a generalist with 2–3 years of marketing experience, who will work closely with our Marketing Manager to support execution of a wide range of marketing initiatives.

We’re a fast growing team of 45, so you’ll need to be organised, comfortable with change, and ready to get stuck in. This role is a fantastic opportunity to learn and develop.

You will:

  • Draft high-quality and engaging ebooks and blog posts.
  • Create and publish email campaigns and landing pages - repurposing content for multiple channels where appropriate.
  • Manage Beacon’s organic social media channels (LinkedIn etc), engaging with the charity community.
  • Help to plan and organise webinars for potential customers.
  • Interview and write-up customer case studies.
  • Assist with the logistics of exhibiting at conferences, including merchandise (swag, customer gifts, etc).
  • Help manage our website (updating CMS pages, posting new articles, etc).

Requirements

Must-Haves:

  • 2–3 years of B2B startup marketing experience
  • Exceptional Writing Skills: You can write clear, charming, and persuasive copy. You know the difference between "professional" and "boring." (A little humour goes a long way)
  • Event Coordination: Experience helping to organise events, whether virtual (webinars) or physical (conferences).
  • Tech-Savvy: You’re comfortable picking up new tools quickly (e.g., CMS systems, new design tools, email marketing platforms like ActiveCampaign etc).
  • Eye for design: Comfortable using Figma, Adobe or Canva, to create digital and print assets.
  • Creative problem-solver: You’re an out-of-the-box thinker and love bouncing around ideas to find creative solutions.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience in the Charity Sector: You understand how charities work or have volunteered previously.
  • B2B SaaS Experience: You know what a "lead," "churn," and "MRR / ARR" are.
  • Experience with Webflow.

  3. Video interview with the Head of Commercial (Charlie) and Marketing Manager (Joe) - 1 hour
  4. Final stage session in-person at Beacon’s office - 3 hours

    • We’re happy to pay for appropriate travel costs if this would impact your ability to attend in-person

If there is anything that we can do to improve the accessibility of any of these stages for you, please let us know.

Working together

As a team we prefer to be together in our office (4-6 New Inn Broadway, London, EC2A 3PR) and we'd want you to join us - so this is not a remote role. We offer flexible working hours and while your usual place of work will be with us in the office, you can work home when you need to.

If you don’t live in London but would be happy to relocate, we can pay up to £4,000 (tax free) to help with your relocation costs.

We passionately believe in doing our part to address the tech sector's diversity problem

We believe that in building diversity we build strength.

We encourage everyone with the required skills to apply, we consider building a diverse and representative team to be critical to our success, and we actively pursue building a more diverse team.

We have a banded salary system to ensure that nobody is paid differently for the same role. Salaries across the organisation, including executive pay, are entirely transparent.

Our parental leave policy provides for 12 weeks of full pay, and can be taken by any parent, regardless of their new parenting circumstances.
