Printing multiple Word documents

If you've been making the most of Beacon's document merge feature, you may have had some difficulty printing multiple files without going through them one-by-one. Let's make it a little easier for you - follow the steps below to print a bunch of Word documents at the same time.

  • macOS (Macbook, iMac, Mac mini)
  • Windows (HP, IBM, Lenovo, Dell, Acer, etc)

There are two different methods you can use to print multiple files on your Mac:

link Method 1: Print from Finder

  1. Open 'Finder'
  2. Find your files, and select all that you'd like to print
  3. Go to 'File' in your menu bar and choose 'Print'Print files macOS

link Method 2: Drag files to your print queue

  1. Open 'System Preferences'
  2. Choose 'Printers & Scanners'
  3. Click 'Open Print Queue...' on the printer you'd like to useOpen print queue macos

There's a few different ways you can try to print multiple Word documents in Windows. Each version of Windows varies slightly, and some methods might not work for you; try another method to see the one that works for you!

link Method 1: Print from File Explorer

  1. Open 'File explorer' by clicking the icon in your taskbar, or by going to Start > File Explorer
  2. Select the files you'd like to print
  3. Right click on them and choose 'Print'

link Method 2: Drag files to the print queue

  1. Open Start > Settings
  2. Select 'Printers & scanners' in the left pane
  3. Select the printer you want to use, then click 'Open queue'Open print queue Windows
  4. Keeping the queue window open, open 'File explorer' by clicking the icon in your taskbar, or by going to Start > File Explorer
  5. Select the files you'd like to print
  6. Drag them to the print queue window - they will start printing

link Method 3: Use a dedicated program

The final method for printing multiple files in Windows is to use a 3rd party application. Print Conductor has been a popular option over the years, but we haven't tested it personally so good to check with your internal IT folks.
